CLARITY, FIRST for greater ALIGNMENT
Welcome back to “NEXT LEVEL Leadership,” your weekly leadership coaching support to manage through chaos and experience greater clarity and alignment.
In last week’s newsletter, we encouraged you to create CLARITY, FIRST for greater ALIGNMENT within you, your team and organization. The four leadership coaching steps were:
- Be clear on your role and responsibilities
- Ask clarifying questions,
- Identify priorities, and
- Set reminders to follow up.
These steps may feel simple and even feel like common sense to you. Yet, as we work with multiple generations across the workforce, we know that what may “feel simple” and like “common sense” may not be your reality in today’s environment.
“Common sense is no longer common in business.”
*A new client’s quote when telling their story about a lack of clarity and alignment with team members.
Within Leadership Coaching, we consistently guide leaders back to simple, repeatable tools that create clarity and alignment for themselves, their teams and their organizations. *Without a shared foundation of “common sense,” chaos ensues and it can spiral quickly.

You can choose to rise above any chaos in thought, communication and actions by creating clarity and alignment with our TC&A’s 3-Step Strategy:
1. Create a Focus Statement
a. I will choose alignment
2. List 3 Behaviors that you will do
a. I will focus on what I can control and ask myself, “Is the story I’m telling myself true?”
b. I will stay focused on what I can do by doing my job to the best of my ability
c. I will choose to ask for help when I need support
3. My Desired Outcome is to bring greater clarity and not enter into external chaos
Here are 3 key reflections to support you and your leadership:
- Being pressure-prompted is good for emergencies or when things “come up” unexpectedly. Be mindful of your own behaviors that create chaos vs choosing to build clarity and alignment for you and your team. Chaos can be a chosen behavior.
- Be mindful that constant chaos slows everything down. Is the chaos really serving you, your team and organization?
- You can choose not to let the external chaos of others impact you. Yes, you choose how you let external chaos impact you. Be discerning.
Which one resonates most with you? (Truthfully, they all apply.)
TC&A’s NEXT LEVEL Leadership Tools, along with our leadership coaching support provides mindsets, behaviors and actions that move everyone and everything from chaos and constant busyness TO clarity, focus, and sustainable performance without burning out.
