TC&A's NEXT LEVEL Leadership Tools

2 Days. 12 Managers. Lasting Impact.

Inside Manager Boot Camp:

How 12 Managers Became More Intentional Leaders in 2 Days-Time

Last week, I (Chelsea) had the opportunity to bring Manager Boot Camp to 12 managers at Calamigos Ranch Resort & Spa. It is a breathtaking property and a magical place, highly recommend for your next getaway!

Over two days of the Manager Boot Camp workshop, we worked through real leadership challenges —

self-awareness, mindset, accountability, delegation, communication and well-being.

At the end, we asked participants five questions. Their answers tell the story!

  1. Before Manager Boot Camp, what was your biggest leadership challenge?

The same themes surfaced again and again: delegation, confidence, accountability, time management and leading without carrying everything yourself.

“Struggling with confidence.”

“Delegating effectively. Leading the team to give them more authority and step into proactive leadership roles.”

2. These are capable people learning how to make the shift from doing the work to leading the people.

What was your biggest takeaway?

This is where we saw the shift toward leading yourself first.

“Focusing on my energy and how that translates to staff on a day-to-day basis.”

“Not everything that is urgent is important.”

“We all have different frameworks that we process, communicate and make decisions from.”

Leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about awareness, intention and choice.

3. Which tools will you use most often?

Participants repeatedly called out Lead Yourself, FIRST, Responsibility & Accountability, Growth Mindset, The 6 Steps of Delegation, and the Leadership Well-Being Check-In.

“I should not feel like I am the only person to complete the task.”

The goal isn’t another binder on the shelf. It’s practical tools managers can use immediately.

4. What commitment are you making moving forward?

Their commitments ranged from delegating more effectively and checking back in for clarity to protecting their own well-being and holding themselves and their teams accountable.

“I am committing to teaching my staff valuable tools as I learn them.”

That’s the ripple effect. Develop one manager, and the impact reaches an entire team.

5. How has Manager Boot Camp changed the way you think about leadership?

This may be where the impact came through most clearly:

“Leadership starts from within — you must lead yourself to greatness before you let others follow.”

“I can definitely see how my attitude and energy can affect the rest of the team.”

“One does not need to be mean to be a leader. Expectations and boundaries can be set with kindness.”

“Your perspective about being a leader will change.”

That’s Manager Boot Camp.

We’re not trying to create one “right” kind of manager.

We’re giving managers the self-awareness, frameworks and practical tools to understand how they lead, how their leadership impacts others and how to lead more intentionally.

Because when you invest in the person behind the manager, you don’t just develop one leader. You strengthen the team around them.

Are you promoting strong performers into management — and giving them the tools to succeed once they get there?

Manager Boot Camp is available for organizations ready to invest in their new, emerging and evolving managers.
