Roasted Broccoli & Ricotta Bruschetta Drizzled With Spicy Honey

I've been asked by my beautiful wife and mother-in-love to provide an appetizer and drink recipe. Both are fairly simple and can impress any guests coming over for a summer BBQ.

Roasted Broccoli & Ricotta Bruschetta Drizzled With Spicy Honey

  • 1 Large head of Broccoli

  • 4 tbsp Olive oil

  • 2 cloves of Garlic

  • 2 tsp Salt

  • 2 tsp Red pepper flakes

  • 1 tsp fresh ground black pepper

  • 1 tsp lemon zest

  • 1 french baguette (sliced)

  • 4 tbsp honey

  • 2 tbsp chili oil

Preheat the oven to 375

Cut the head of Broccoli up into smaller more manageable pieces. since we're going to roast and then dice up... this is just for roasting purposes.

Cut 2 cloves of garlic

Toss cut broccoli and garlic in 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil

Pinch of each, season with salt and red pepper flakes

Roast for 15-20 minutes

Pull broccoli out of the oven and let cool.

After 5 minutes, Chop all the broccoli up.

while broccoli is roasting, whip ricotta with salt, black pepper and lemon zest

Also combine Chili oil and Honey. stir

on a baking tray, place all sliced baguette pieces, drizzle olive oil on bread and bake in oven until golden brown (bread needs to watched carefully)

I prefer to leave all components separate and let the guests build their own apps. A piece of bread topped with a scoop of ricotta, then a scoop of roasted broccoli and then drizzle some chili honey on top.

Enjoy!

Tequila Negroni

Build in Glass...

1.5 oz Any Tequila (I prefer Reposado)

3/4 oz Sweet Vermouth

(The better the vermouth, the better the cocktail) Most sweet vermouth is Red. I prefer Dolin

3/4 oz Campari

Add Ice, and stir. Garnish with a lemon twist

ENJOY!!
