ALIGNING WITH WHO I AM…
SUPPORTS MY POSITIVE OUTCOMES
Every day, our seniors who participate in the Find Your WHY program have an opportunity to CHOOSE “how” they are going to make the best decisions for their current lives and future careers.
Within the context of WHO they are with the support of their Myers/Briggs personality preferences, they are able to understand and positively choose:
where they want to apply for a meaningful college experience
how they want to benefit from their academic learning
where their preferences are for living in a new college location
how the college of their choice will support their making life-long relationships
Many of our students are accepted into the colleges of their choice within the United States. Other students choose to learn and grow as they work for their generational family businesses. And, others have chosen to build upon their skill sets by learning a new trade.
We support our students in whatever direction they CHOOSE with our FYW communication,
“There is no right or wrong decision – We encourage you to be mindful,
there will be different outcomes with your decision.”
Our students gain in their ability to ALIGN with the strengths of WHO they are by knowing their personality preferences. There are 16 different personality types according to the Myers/Briggs indicator. Within the 16 different personality types, there are thousands of variations.
A tool that supports our seniors to stay ALIGNED with who they are, along with making good and positive decisions is our FYW,
“Decision Making Pyramid.”
Each student learns and grows in their understanding of “HOW” to identify a problem or a decision that needs to be made in true ALIGNMENT with who they are.
They learn “HOW” to compare their options within the preferences of their sensory abilities – focusing on the facts, data and details or their intuitive abilities – focusing on the big picture, being abstract and conceptual…all the while, staying mindful of being in ALIGNMENT with the core of their preference.
We encourage our students to know “HOW” they feel about their decision or the problem, which needs to be solved. Also, this process includes using reason and logic for the best of outcomes, which continues to support their own mindfulness and stay in ALIGNMENT with who they are.
The choice our students make to take the time for focus and thoughtful reflection, in regards to their decision or problem to be solved is KEY to staying in ALIGNMENT with WHO they are. We support our students slowing down and understanding “HOW” reflection and focus will support their confidence when determining and making a decision.
Lastly, we advocate for positive outcomes on behalf of our students, their families and their friends. When our students are fully supported within their decision making process – they experience positive outcomes that are ALIGNED with who they are and those who are closest to them.
