The Choice For Time Away

Last month, I (Chelsea), had the opportunity to travel to Portugal for the wedding of my dear friends. It was a trip that took immense planning, patience and long days of travel. After years of not traveling internationally, I knew the trip was going to stretch me in many ways. As it turns out, the travel held true to every challenge I anticipated. Yet, it was a gorgeous experience filled with an outpouring of love and lifelong memories that were made with my husband and friends. I am deeply grateful my husband, Max and I made the choice to take time away and travel.

Yes, it was challenging to travel internationally. At the same time, it was comforting being surrounded by longtime friends, most of who I hadn’t seen in many years. I found myself internally looking to stay grounded in my experiences and be fully present in the moment. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time connecting with my friends and yet, there were times, I found myself longing for the connection that only I can provide for myself. As far away as I was from my own routine and comforts, I still needed to stay personally…

Grounded and Centered
in order to fully experience the
Peace – Confidence and Calm
that I needed to stay fully
Present for myself, my spouse and my closest friends.

To fully engage in my experience and time away, I found myself asking this question ~

“How can I experience the present moment to the fullest?”

For me, this meant being unplugged from all distractions. I committed to listening and showing up for what I internally needed, which made me more available to listen and show up for others. I was able to be more curious about others and the lives they are living, while sharing about my life, as well. I was able to create a safe and centered place for my dear friend, the bride and support her experience to be meaningful to her. Every intentional choice led up to her special wedding day.

In full transparency, I could have probably used more time relaxing! However, I was able to redirect my mindset of what I can control - my mindset, choices and actions. As Tess and I coach many of you on a regular basis, I had to lean in to my own tools and resources for guidance. My intentional mindfulness supported positive choices and actions that lead to more meaningful experiences and interactions with others.

THINKING OF YOU. As you enter into these last few weeks of spring and likely, already have summer plans and energy in motion planning your FUN experiences - consider taking the tools and resources you have learned in the coaching process with you. You are supported and guided with an abundance of knowledge, learning and insight that can support you to manage in and thru the greatest of joys and the deepest of complexities. When preparing for the experiences that are important to you, you may want to consider thinking about how you will manage some of the following situations as you head into the summer months ahead:

  • Getting out of your routine

    • This can feel refreshing or chaotic, depending on your personality preferences

  • Allowing yourself to be present whatever the circumstance

    • When you tune into the present moment, clarity presents itself

  • Experiencing new things

    • Change can be exciting and uncomfortable at times, anticipate both, so you can manage your reactions in the moment

  • Observing different cultures and ways of doing things

    • We have so much to learn from one another, human connection is boundless

  • Learning about others

    • Being curious about others can lead you to relationships and experiences you never even imagined

  • Connecting to the beauty of nature

    • Our earth is overflowing with beauty and there is always something to enjoy

  • Letting go of expectations

    • When you let go of expectations, you allow what is truly meant to happen in the moment transpire and you can do so with a grateful heart

May you enjoy your TIME AWAY as you embrace this summer’s celebrations, special moments and life experiences with your best intentions. Happy June!

We always want the best for you and are here for you,
