Years ago, we were called to create a process for managing time and priorities within one of the organizations we coach. As we put together the learning, a common theme presented itself…
“as employees needed to manage their time and priorities, they first needed to manage their own energy.”
ENERGY matters. When energy is given the attention it needs, results tend to thrive.
As we explore time, priorities and energy this May, we encourage you to check in with your own energy. You may want to ask yourself:
“When do I feel the most energized throughout my work day?”
“What part of the day do I have lower energy?”
As you are aware of your energy levels throughout your day, you can identify and choose how you manage your time. Here are the possibilities in managing your work day:
As you manage your time, you will begin to see your priorities align.
As your priorities are aligned, you will focus on what is most important.
As you manage your time, aligning your priorities with what is most important, you will use your best energy most effectively.
Often times, within our work we jump straight to what the priorities are without considering what we actually have energy for. Surely, we understand there are times that regardless of your energy, deadlines need to be met and expectations from your team or leader are present.
We are here to support you as you manage your time, priorities and energy. Every Monday, we encourage you to follow along with our TC&A newsletter, as we provide the mindset to manage your time, behaviors aligned with your priorities and strategy to utilize your best energy.
