Are your work meetings stagnant?
Have your meetings become boring and uninteresting?
Do you try to avoid having meetings with your team?
TC&A encourages you to try something different for the month of August.
There are times it is appropriate to add some “fun” or “change things up” to meetings that have become stagnant and boring.
Here are a few ideas:
Ask your team members to tell a brief story by sharing a memory about their favorite childhood food and why?
Ask your team members to tell a brief story by sharing a memory about their favorite band or song in Jr. High / High School and why?
Ask your team members to tell a brief story by sharing a memory about a mentor that was supportive of them during their college years / age and why?
Ask your team members to tell a brief story by sharing a memory about how they would describe their first job experience. Was their first job like the ocean where they were trying to ride the waves? Was their first job like the desert and challenging to stay alive? Was their first job like a calm lake with a great sunset where everything went well? Or, was their first job like the mountaintop with a beautiful valley – challenging and supportive?
Ask your team members to tell a brief story by sharing a memory about how they have mentored and helped others in their careers? Why was this experience meaningful?
Ask your team members to tell a brief story by sharing a memory about what movie describes their career experience? And, why this movie stands out to them?
Ask your team member to tell a brief story by sharing why it is important to take good care of yourself? And, how are you taking good care of yourself?
Every person, no matter what the age, enjoys a good story and appreciates a good question! You will be amazed how engaged your team members will be as you choose to lead your meetings in a unique and different way. Good questions and respectful listening will add value to your meeting with a good story!
