Over the last three years, the Find Your WHY program for Seniors in High School has supported our students in three significant ways. Each student has had the opportunity to be engaged in learning with the Japanese concept of IKIGAI (ee-kee-gahy):

1. The reason for their being – Discovering their internal being of WHO they are

2. The purpose of their being – Defining WHAT their external personal mission is

3. The potential of their being – Deciding HOW they are going to reach their internal and external potential

These three areas support the Japanese concept of IKIGAI – A person living with happiness or living within a value for one’s life, passions and skills.

This is a life-long practice for our students and for us as leaders and coaches, as well. Our desire is to provide tools and resources for living as our students learn to create and build their lives that will bring joy and happiness for them, their families, the work they do and the contributions they choose to make in their lifetime.

Our FYW students enter into their learning to build a higher self-esteem and to know that their existence/presence in this world is meaningful. Their understanding of their own reasons, purpose and potential for being influences every decision and opportunity they choose.

We believe, the learning our students acquire within the one-on-one coaching meetings and 3 seminars throughout their Senior year, supports them to transition into their college or vocational years more equipped to lead and manage the complexity of being a young adult.

As FYW continues to grow and develop, we are passionate in supporting our students to be TRUE to WHO they are. We coach them to understand their purpose and TRUST in WHAT is most meaningful to them. We see great potential in every student and support the TALENT of every student to continue to learn and grow. For every student we lay the foundation of IKIGAI, as a practice of mindfulness and self-awareness throughout their life.

(covers the cost of 1 student for the FYW program)

PASSION - Giving to Support Strengths - $750.00

(contributes to FYW end of year student celebration and Completion of program)

(covers the cost of one FYW group seminar)

VOCATION - Giving to Support Personal Development - $75.00

(covers the cost of the Myers/Briggs Assessment for 1 student)
