Your Inner Pillars of Strength: Competence, Consistency, Creativity

Welcome back to ‘Your Choice,’ we are so happy to be on this journey with you, where we share knowledge and insights into building who you are as a leader and as a human. We believe in your abilities to experience the best of outcomes and your opportunities to turn all of your desires into reality. One thing we know to be true: every desire we want to turn into a reality, needs a strong foundation

Sample Character qualities are: Honest, Trustworthy, Reliable, Respectful, Fair and Resilient.

Last week, we shared the story of The Leadership Blueprint: Becoming the Architect of Your Life & Work and encouraged you to tune into your Character qualities. Your Character is the foundation from which everything else you want in life and work is built upon. Your transparency with who you are, will be experienced with how sustainable your foundation is. So, it matters most to you to be truthful, open and honest with the strength of your Character qualities.

With your Character locked in. You can focus on the inner strengths of your:

Competency

Consistency

& Creativity

Take the next five minutes and answer the following questions, in regards to these three areas.

1.     Where do I need to learn, unlearn or reshape my Competence to experience better outcomes in my work and life?

Examples:

  • I would have better outcomes if, I listened to others, first

  • I would have better outcomes if, I increased in knowledge

  • I would have better outcomes if, I was an effective communicator

2.     Where do I need to be more Consistent in my mindset, behaviors and choices to experience better outcomes in my work and life?

Examples:

  • I would have better outcomes if, I acted when I saw an opportunity

  • I would have better outcomes if, I went above and beyond

  • I would have better outcomes if, I kept my commitments

3.     Am I Creatively building relationships to better support my desired outcomes in my work and life?

Examples:

  • I would have better outcomes if, I was more curious in my relationships

  • I would have better outcomes if, I was more empathetic towards others

  • I would have better outcomes if, I was more positive

As you consider your answers to the questions above, you now have a better understanding of where you need to put your focus to learn, grow and connect – first with yourself and then with others.

As you commit to being the leader of yourself, first (a phrase we often use in coaching) you will begin to see the patterns of your thoughts, behaviors and choices. You will have a greater self-awareness in taking responsibility and understanding that it is ‘Your Choice’ to be a leader with an:

  • Unwavering Character

  • Unique Competencies

  • Consistent Behaviors &

  • Ability to Build Creative Relationships

“These four areas will build your Confidence in who you are personally and professionally and why you do what you do in life and work.” – The Leadership Blueprint

Next week we will secure your Character, Competence, Consistency and Creativity with a more in depth look at Confidence. Also, we will discover where many misguide themselves, when they seek Confidence externally, before rooting themselves in the first 4 C’s internally.
