A Door of Opportunity

“Time flies when you’re in the place you’re meant to be.”

We began our first group for the Find Your WHY program in 2019. At that time, our seniors, engaged in a pilot program to learn, grow and understand more about themselves and what they were passionate about for their future lives and careers. As I (Deanna), reflect back on that first year, “I attribute the giving of my time to being in ‘the right place’ and living with ‘working on behalf of my passion’ to be the utmost of rewarding experiences. Working with our FYW teens and watching them grow is an investment that leads me and keeps my hope alive for the future of our teens – they are truly AMAZING!”

The Find Your WHY program gives our students that door of opportunity to be CURIOUS about their own selves and ask the questions:

Who am I?

What am I good at?

What colleges should I apply to?

What kind of career do I want that will support my strengths?

What am I passionate about?

The CURIOSITY continues with each student learning about their own self …first through the:

- Myers/Briggs Personality Assessment

- Individual Coaching Sessions

- Group Learning Seminars

One of the key elements to building learning, growth, emotional learning and development is to support our students to be CURIOUS about one another. For this reason, we decided that it would be best for our students to experience diversity. We are proud to offer our Find Your WHY program to ALL students who apply and are accepted into the program from all diverse backgrounds, AND, at “no cost” to them or their families (a $1,500 value). Our core belief is to offer the program to every teen who wants to learn and grow personally and with others.

Our students are encouraged to create new OPPORTUNITIES and OPEN DOORS by understanding their unique strengths and competencies. They are given the opportunity to grow and develop in the way they process information and make choices. They are inspired to create a deeper commitment to who they are in the present and who they hope to be in the future with their furthering education, job opportunities and volunteerism. As we reflect back to that first year of students to the present group of seniors - time has flown by AND we are so deeply proud of our students! They continue to keep our HOPE Alive for our future, too.

With the deepest of Gratitude,

Deanna, Tess and Katie
