CLOSING THE DOOR TO THE 2020 YEAR,
with all of the lessons learned and guidance to be resilient.
READY TO OPEN A NEW DOOR FOR THE 2021 YEAR,
with the greatest of hope and belief in our future.
YES, TC&A BELIEVES -
what YOU/WE want is POSSIBLE in the NEW 2021 YEAR!
Napoleon Hill once said, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” In fact, the mind is such a powerful instrument, it can deliver to you literally everything you want. But you have to believe that what you want is possible.
- The Success Principles by Jack Canfield
The quote is meaningful to TC&A, as we close the 2020 Year with it’s…
Amazing opportunities to support you and your LEADERSHIP through continued learning, growth and development. We have learned, grown and developed from your leadership, as well.
Amazing challenges with Covid-19 that were hard and difficult to bear and required more from your LEADERSHIP to lead yourself, your teams, businesses and boards. We were required to “rise above” with you, as we supported your leadership.
Yes, each and every one of us has experienced “real life” Leadership opportunities and challenges in 2020.
With each new day, we all had the opportunity to choose to “rise above” our challenges and look for new opportunities and ways of doing things. We had the choice to embrace creating good from the challenges and bring hope and belief for our future opportunities.
We know the 2020 Year was filled with heartbreaking obstacles. We understand that defeat may have been knocking on your doorstep and it may have gotten the best of you. We acknowledge the power of discouragement when there does not seem to be hope on the other side of our life / work experiences.
YET, TC&A BELIEVES -
What YOU/WE want is POSSIBLE, as we BUILD new HOPE and DREAMS together for LEADERSHIP opportunities.
Here’s a great story from our book, “THE LEADERSHIP BLUEPRINT.” It’s a story that shows us how an unexpected OPEN DOOR created HOPE for others, supported unimaginable DREAMS and encouraged a BELIEF in one’s own abilities for the best of outcomes for ALL – Enjoy reading and reflecting.
As Leaders entering into a New 2021 year, we’re reminded of the story on January 15, 2009, when Capt. Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger made an emergency landing of US Airways Flight 1549 in New York’s Hudson River. One hundred fifty passengers and five crew members were on board. Due to Sullenberger’s quick action, skill and composure, everyone survived. The event became known as the “Miracle on the Hudson.” You can watch and listen to Sullenberger’s mastery at this link.
Capt. Sullenberger did not intentionally plan on his plane being struck by a flock of Canadian geese, which immediately created loss of engine power. What we did come to know and understand is that Capt. Sullenberger had the ability to operate his plane with calm under the highest levels of pressure. And, he had the practice and skills to land the commercial plane in the river. He was PREPARED and COMPETENT with over 19,664 flight hours – 4,765 of which were accumulated in Airbus A320 aircraft, the type of plane he piloted on January 15, 2009.
His heroics gave him and his crew the Master’s Medal by the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators. Also, his remarkably brave experience gave him the opportunity for new doors to be open for him to share his expertise as a safety expert and speaker; share his experience as a speaker and author; and to stay curious as to what would be supportive for aviation and other pilots who might find themselves in a similar or different challenging predicament. And to further his options for telling his story, the actor Tom Hanks played him in the movie, Sully. This BIG and ONE event in saving people’s lives changed the life of Capt. “Sully” Sullenberger, forever. In many ways…amongst the heartbreaking obstacles, he refused to be discouraged nor defeated – In fact he and his crew TRIUMPHED!
This story inspires our leadership to be PREPARED for the new “DOORS TO BE OPENED” with a renewed sense of HOPE AND BELIEF for our futures because we are COMPETENT and skilled in our leadership abilities.
In the New 2021 let’s keep our LEADERSHIP FILLED WITH HOPE AND BELIEF by using the following leadership qualities:
