- Last week, we explored internal trust. This week, we expand that energy outward through communication — because every conversation is an exchange of energy.
Written communication evokes energy.
Verbal communication ignites energy.
Physical presence embodies energy.
When we speak, write, or listen from a centered place, we transmit clarity instead of chaos.
There are four primary leadership communication styles — Telling, Coaching, Supporting, and Delegating. Each style has a time and place, and every leader uses all four at different times. Many of you know we are avid Dodgers fans and raising a fourth generation of Dodger fans as we speak! So, we are elated that the Dodgers clutched back to back World Series Championship titles AND we know it didn’t happen without strategy and communication. Each of the four communication styles above were needed at different times throughout the series and the season as a whole.
In fact, when the Dodgers faced elimination and a shifting lineup, they didn’t panic.
They communicated.
They adapted.
They trusted the process — and each other.
Their World Series win wasn’t just a result of talent — it was the result of communication rooted in trust:
- clarity of roles
- alignment under pressure
- honest, real-time conversations
- belief in a shared goal

Define your style. Tune in to others communication styles and communicate in a way that builds trust.
